This boutique health club is the first in London to be in a prominent position on the heritage corner of St. James Street and King Street. Woods Bagot's London studio teamed up with American luxury fitness company Equinox and local interior designer Joyce Wang Studio to transform the former bank building into a unique building that the British newspaper Telegraph called "the most fashionable gym in the UK" design.

Club members are immersed in a healthy world where they can exercise, eat, relax and shop. Previously operated as a bank, the interior now has modern and industrial materials such as black perforated metal, stained oak, marble, grooved glass and large copper tones at the doorway. The most striking indoor interventions are mezzanine stairs and railings with double curved bulkheads. The railing surrounds the entire staircase and mezzanine, while the curved backlit bulkhead sweeps underneath and connects to the ceiling. This effect allows indirect illumination to the underlying strength training area.

The interior is provocative, bold and serpentine, in stark contrast to its more conservative and formal architecture.

Inside the marble-covered interior, we floated a metal sandwich over the main fitness ground. The Spinning and Pilates studios are located on the top of the mezzanine and offer stunning views of the existing arches, mouldings and balconies. In a seamless movement, the underside of the gym floor ceiling swoops upwards to form a sandwich railing.
