OK, sweetie，let's start today’s story. Look at the cover page first. The title of the story is “fun at the beach”. There are lots of details in this cover picture. So let’s look at each of these.  First of all, it’s a sunny day, and so many flags are waving in the air. The signboard reads “grand pier”(大码头). do you know “pier”? it is a place that ships and boats docked(停靠)，usually built close to the beach. The family now are at the gate. Floppy go ahead and Kipper hold the dog leash. Besides,there are few shops near the gate. Let’s find them. (此时家长可以跟孩子依次找出那些店的招牌并指出来) . yes, we find them, a ice cream shop 、a hot dogs shop and maybe a fish&chips shop. Ok, let’s follow the family and go in. Fun maybe just inside. 

Page 1, we can see that many people center on a face cut-out board(漏脸板). and a bald man stand behind it. Everyone is laughing including the family. They thinks it is funny . Maybe they want to got a try. In addition ,we can see lots of people at the beach and many seagulls in the sky. Let’s turn to the next page. 

Oh, they really do. Mom and dad standing behind another face cut-out board. Now dad look like a fat man with a big big suit, and mom like a thin gentleman. Kipper point at them and laugh，chip hold his tummy and laugh，biff take a photo and laugh. It looks really funny. Let’s turn to the next page.

On page 4-5, we see 3 sign s on the wall. Just look at the biggest one.(此刻家长指着墙上最大的牌子) it reads “hall of mirrors”. another two sign tell that “walk this way please”and “no shouting”. Now we know that the family go into the hall.  What do they see in the mirrors? The images look so weird. Actually that’s not the normal mirror image. Kipper 、biff and dad looks taller than they really are, and dad look like a giant now. On the other hand, mom、chip and floppy’s image looks wavy, just like ghosts. Floppy look so scared because the image on the mirror. No wonder the sign tell them “no shouting”. If they shout ,it will scare others. Sweetie , do you know what’s these mirrors called? They called distorting mirrors(哈哈镜). They can do magic and make some funny images. Ok, let’s turn to next page and wonder what funny thing will happen.

On page 6-7, we can see a sign hang on the fence. It reads “fun and games”(此刻家长指着牌子上的字).  Three kids are bouncing on the trampolines(蹦床) joyfully. At this time, they are jumping so high as in the sky. It is easy to say that they are really enjoying this moment. But do you know why dad and floppy stay outside ? sweetie, just look at the sign on the tickets room, it tells “boys and girls only ”. so this is why dad and floppy couldn’t go in. Besides , let’s focus on other things on this picture . One is the bucket and spade(家长指着墙边的桶和铲子), the other is the inflatable boats（指着墙角的气垫船）. Actually , they are rental. How do we know? Just look at sign outside the ticket room.(此刻家长可以指指卖票门口的牌子) . Moreover , it seems that floppy are heading somewhere, maybe he see something funny. Let’s see what do he find at last.

Oh, naughty dog, floppy get rid of the dog rope and run so fast. We can see his back legs front ,and front legs back. Why is he so happy now ? Because now he is in the dog area（指着沙滩上立着的指示牌）, and running without the rope is free and joyful. But have to say, he is really very muddy. And dad look a little shocked.(注意爸爸的面部表情)  OK，this is the whole story，everyone of the family enjoy the beach time，they are really happy、joyful and relaxed，so this is why the title of this book called“fun at the beach”.(家长在此翻到书本封面给小孩看)
